I was thinking maybe five different types of cheesecake -- raspberry, chocolate, traditional New York, Mocha and Pineapple.

My sweet tooth is definitely acting up again!

So... I'm listening to the score for the new Batman Begins. Interesting track titles, these: 1. Vespertilio; 2. Eptesicus; 3. Myotis; 4. Barbastella; 5. Artibeus; 6. Tadarida; 7. Macrotus; 8. Antrozous; 9. Nycteris; 10. Molossus; 11. Corynorhinus; 12. Lasiurus

Species of bats. Stylish. No chance of the Star Wars "Funeral of Qui-Gonn" track title spoiler snafu.

Also of note that this is the first colloboration (all points to an equal partnership, not "please come in and fix so-and-so's score for us, no hurry, anytime tomorrow afternoon is okay") between two heavy-weights: Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard.

There are bats in the movie?!! Damnit, use spoiler tags!!!

So today marks 2 years of wedded something-or-other for me. And my husband, of course. And I'm at work putting together a grant and he's at home sick. Yay us.

You must spread some Mojo around before giving it to Prudence again.

:snap: Happy Anniversary to the Prudences!!! :snap:

Ooooooh, I'm excited about the Foo Fighter's CD, MerryPrankster!!! I can't take my Coldplay CD out of my player though.....Coldplay and Foo Fighters are my two big concert events this summer!!! Portland doesn't have a very exciting summer line up for me this year........

Today is the kids' last day of school. We've been drowning in birthday parties this week, too. FOUR in five days! Craziness. Plus, my sister's bachelorette party, end of year parties and gifts, end of softball parties and gifts.....good gods I'm broke!!! Not too broke for a new Coach bag though.

And now Courtney's made all stars.....three more weeks of craziness, then a tournament. Bah. I was counting on only park play dates and swimming lessons for the next three weeks.....these were supposed to be our "quiet weeks" until my sister gets back from her honeymoon and the next phase of wedding extravaganza kicks in.....whatever. It's all good stuff.

Spent the day doing homeschool stuff, then took the girl swimming at the health club. She wants to have a pool party there for her tenth b-day next week, so I had to finalise plans and pick up supplies. Twelve or so kids, and then after the party, a slumber party for the girls. It will be her first official slumber party, so she's got all these crafts planned and movies lined up and such. Going to be a looooong night. I also spent way too much at American Girl. com for her b-day; she is getting the Kaya doll (the Nez Perce one- adorable doll!) and lots of stuff to go with it. I also ordered the Isabel doll and book- a smaller 'for show' type doll that is dressed in Elizabethan era clothing. At this rate, she's gonna have all of them before she's eleven. I don't mind so much, because I love that she still likes dolls, and she takes really great care of them. Her uncle, a carpenter, is making bunkbeds for her dolls.:D

GusGus and I have enjoyed three solid years of wedded bliss.

Granted, we've been married for eight years.

We're having a "late season storm with cool temperatures" in NorCal today. It's raining really hard. And it looks more like March outside instead of June. What a drag.

We've had overcast, cloudy, and downright cold weather down here for a weeks now. Some spitting rain but nothing worth carrying an umbrella for. I HATE June Gloom. Every year those two weeks of heat in May get me all excited for summer, only to be depressed when it doesn't arrive until July. Definitely a drag.

Soooooo....

Today is the 4th-6th grade Olympics. Kids compete in a bunch of events, some athletic, many silly, at different stations on the playground. They usually play a cd with the theme from Chariots of Fire, Rocky, We Will Rock You, and other sports songs while the kids do their thing. Well the CD was skipping horribly, so a teacher put on a smooth jazz radio station. Can you believe that? I went out there and changed it to Radio Disney. :)
