Spoiler:
My beagle was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Her heart is so enlarged (result of an infection we didn't know about) that she can barely breathe. She's now on three heart meds and may possibly live a day more, a week more, a month more, a year more, a couple of years more - they don't know.

:( I'm sorry

Boy starts school today.

Classes begin at 8:10. They open the gates to the campus at 7:45. We live less than 5 mins from the school. He is trying to insist that he be there at 7. I told him no.

Oh, and Saturday I sort of disabled all the internet blocks that were placed on my computer. I have no intention of going online, I just thought it was funny.

Excited is he? I hope he feels the same a week from now.

This is funny, in a sick sort of way.

I'm sorry to hear about this Helen. You, your doggie, and your family are in my prayers. I hope you still have some good times together.

My mommy officially starts school today! I'm so proud of her for going forward. Even the giant disaster that was Verizon breaking a water main in their front yard hasn't stopped her. (Somehow, through some debris in the line or whatnot, caused their washing machine to start filling up with water, and because she leaves the machine door open (front loaded) to prevent any accidental machine start-age the water poured out into their home, causing massive water damage to their home as the water spilled into the family room and drained into the basement and replacing all the linoleum upstairs will require asbestos abatement, which means they're going to go ahead with their long-delayed kitchen remodel (since everything has to be torn up anyhow and part of it will be paid for by Verizon/insurance) which means major disruption.) She decided that neither school nor the remodel was negotiable, so if something has to give it will be work. And if they won't give her leave she'll just retire. And they'll give her leave because they're not jerks - and because being the only person in the office who has a clue is a family trait.

And speaking of - finally, more than a year after driving me away, I've heard through the grapevine that my old boss is starting to realize all the unofficial/informal stuff I did for her. My replacement apparently doesn't have quite the knack for soothing over contentious situations that I did, and they are all at each others throats over there. And as a former drill sergeant she doesn't quite have the touchy-feely people skills to handle things. tee-hee!

All right, Pru! May good things come of that, even if it is just the recognition you deserve!

Saturday a manicure and pedi, jungle red!

Broke in the stove with a woktackular thai red curry, delish.

Oven will be broken in this coming weekend, dinner of stuffed pork roast, roasted new potatoes and a lemon creme brulee tart.

I looked longingly at my brioche recipe, I need a weekend free and new baking supplies before I do that. Note to self: need flour, baking powder and yeast.

Pru- yay for recognition, however delayed, and yay for your mom going back to school! Sucks to have their home water-damaged, but at least Verizon will pay for some of the damage.

3894- poor doggie. I know how it is when your puppy's not feeling well. **hugs**
