From the blog that I found that photo on:

Quote:

Widow Tweed drove her car while someone hidden inside the float operated a "Todd" puppet. What I can't remember for sure is if the puppet sat next to her in the car, or if it somehow rode on the back of the car (it was 28 years ago, after all!) Amos Slade (the hunter) drove his truck behind her and a person in a "Copper" costume stood and waved from the back of the truck.

I'm still waiting for the Emperor's New Groove MSEP float.

And Widow Tweed and Amos Slade were recycled giant doll heads from the bicentennial's "America on Parade."

Also MIA, the fabulously long IASW unit.

Just for kicks, I took a look at a video of Light Magic on youtube. OMG! What a piece of sh!t! Where's the acid for my eyes?!

Creepy Riverdance fairies!

Remember when she drove Todd out to the woods? And when Amos drove out to go hunting?

Rather big scene in FatH, when the widow has to drive Todd out there, and she's crying.

yes, noticed that ... because I remember that one quite clearly.

Was there ever any other Attraction unit in the MSEP? More rare than movie synergy units!

Ghoulish Delight 06-22-2009 04:59 PM

Well, Snow White, Pinocchio, Alice serve double duty on that front.

innerSpaceman 06-22-2009 05:26 PM

Yeah, yeah, d'uh. But I believe the Small World unit was the only one ever to be based on an attraction that was, in turn, not based on a movie.

Then there was the 35th Anniversary Sleeping Beauty Castle unit that was quite beautiful.

Any other special units that ran only for a limited time?

Anyone remember any other original units that have long since gone the way of the Dodo? (Another one I recall was a Monstro the Whale, that was part of the original Pinocchio unit in the 70's.)
