Seeing Kevy post reminded me...

It is high time that we here in the bacon thread take a few moments to recognize the accomplishments of Bacon's first cousin: Beef Jerky.

Sure it's technically not a cured pork product but done right it is pretty darn good and has many similarities.

I picked up a few packs of very tasty high quality Beef Jerky during my recent visit to pikes place market. I'm having to carefully ration them to prevent a full on carnivorous feeding frenzy.

Keep yer beef outta my pork!

I should say, I am a big fan of the jerky meats, so this isn't to dis them. But keep yer beef outta my pork! :p

oh...well then, I guess I wont mention the Turkey, Ostrich, Buffalo or Gator jerky I snagged at a recent street faire

just as well, I scarfed those down in a matter of days like a starved badger
