Hey there's a pocket or two of Santa Ana I'd be willing to live in. Heck, go down a couple blocks and over an overpass from where I live right now and you're in Santa Ana.
Who am I kidding, I'd never live in Santa Ana, no matter how cool some of the houses look. |
Well, there's always South Coast Metro. But even that, as nice as it is, is only blocks from being "in the ghettooooo......."
|
South Coast Metro = an area of Santa Ana that changed the name to have higher rent.

There are parts of Santa Ana I really like - Floral park, Wilshire Square, French Park - the historic districts of course. And, Anaheim is NOT LA. |

Going up to Disneyland or Knotts, is no big deal. But, heading into L.A. proper it has a faster pace, tons of traffic, how many freeways?, where the hell am I, sort of feeling to me. But, great concerts and eating to be had. And, the kids love cruising down Hollywood/Sunset and seeing things they ain't ever seen before. ;) |
LA has the Hollywood Bowl. It's good for something :)
Pain in the patookis to get to though. |

how lucky for me that I remind you of a 63 year old man. pardon me while I go hang myself (;) ) |
I can't remember if I mentioned this already or not, but I've decided my newest suit is a winner. When I showed up Wednesday for my interview, the receptionist in the career center had to ask whether I was the interviewer or the interviewee. I got a teensy bit of pleasure out of that. Apparently when I try I look sufficiently put together to pass as an actual professional.
I was there again this morning (but in jeans) for a clerkship interview strategy session and watched the other students coming in for interviews. Most of them looked obviously like students. For the men, it was that they looked so young. For the women, it was their suits. Apparently most women haven't heard of tailors and just wear theirs off the rack when they shouldn't -- their suits were saggy, drooping, awkward, and just generally ill-fitting. And most of them looked pretty cheap, to be honest. I've decided that you really can tell sometimes whether a suit is cheap or expensive. More expensive suits just hang better. The fabric drapes better, the construction is better, and with a little tailoring even someone like me can look fairly damn presentable. Plus, I was wearing the Red Shoes of Doom. They rock. |
Just heard that BluePeople got the job she was going for :)
