Just heard back. We got it. However, the owners want 50 days deposit + pet deposit.

Now to call my father, who's going to be "thrilled" with that amount... :rolleyes:

WOAH! Hold off. There are laws on the max amount of deposit that can be required. You may want to see what they are. I know you love this place but something seems a bit off.

I believe the max is 2 months' rent, so if 50 days plus pet deposit adds up to that, they're within the limits.

They ended up discounting the pet deposit so the total is quite a bit less than two months' rent. :)
