My mechanic asked me what I was smoking.

Whatever was hanging off of the undercarriage of my car is not longer there and it appears nothing is missing.

I suppose phantom car problems are better than real ones.

Maybe you picked something up on the road, but it fell off before you got to the mechanic.

We are having beef stew tonight for dinner. Boy is driving me nuts aksing when we can eat.
