Halloween cannot start until October 1st.
Thanksgiving cannot start until the beginning of November. Christmas cannot happen until the day after Thanksgiving. Period. The foot is down. |

Does this mean easter bunnies will be out in January? if so, the only good result would be that by easter time, the peeps would be sufficiently stale enough to eat! |
Aaaaargh!
So we're going to Chicago and the Cubs are in the playoffs. I already missed the day that the tickets for the first playoff series went on sale a couple weeks ago. Of course, the odds of any of the games being in Chicago on the dates we're there were slim for this series, so not a big loss. But today, tickets for the second series go on sale. It's a bit of a crap shoot as the 2 things have to happen. 1) The Cubs have to win the first series against the D-backs. 2) The schedule has to line up (and it depends who their opponent is) such that the first Chicago home game of the series is on one of the days we're in Chicago . But in case 1, we'd get a refund and in case 2 we could sell the tickets no problem (probably for a profit). So tickets go on sale at 10AM. The way it works is, 30 minutes before 10, you can enter a "virtual waiting room". At 10:00, they start randomly picking people who are logged into the waiting room to buy tickets. I have a meeting at 10, so I had worked out a deal with a coworker to finish the transaction for me while I'm in the meeting. At 8:15 I went to the site to double check the procedure...and I see, "Tickets On Sale Now"!!!!!! 10AM....central time! I'm so angry at myself right now. I've logged into the waiting room. I'm guessing that means tickets aren't yet completely sold out for all the games or else they probably wouldn't even let me get that far. But who knows if I'll ever get out of the waiting room at this point. Hell. Oh well, time to root for the Cubs to not make it into the second round so I can feel better. ETA: And there you have it, the message "Only scatterd singles available for Games 1 and 2." just popped up. Games 1 and 2 are the only games that stand a chance of being in Chicago while we're there, so that's that. Unless I want to pay insane scalper prices, no Wrigley Field game for us. So....mad....at....myself. |

GD, PM me or read your PM. I might have a friend who can help you out, or know of a way for you to get some tickets. She's a huge Cubbie fan. |

Forget the goat-this is the true curse on the Cubs: They will not win the World Series until Fred Merkle is awarded second base. |
My consumer behavior class is rife with connotation.

resistance is sometimes NOT futile! (so far) |

I don't know how she will get tickets, but she will, she follows the cubbies with an obsession akin to madness! |
