Have a great time!! :D It all sounds wonderful!

I just finished a painting I started *10* years ago :)
I promised myself no new projects until I completed one of my old ones (and then promptly set myself to work on Neph's wedding gift, LOL), but tonight I finished the teacups painting - finishing the stonework in the wall and redoing the Alice leaves that used to bug me so much (because I'd done them wrong). I also did some work on a much more recent work-in-progress, my TSI painting. Now that I have the right shade of brown, I was able to paint over the mill on the island and make it much more realistic looking. I am *very* pleased with the change - yay! (looked like hell before, especially set amongst some pretty decent trees and water I'd done). |

Sigh. Now I am not so happy. Maybe this should be posted somewhere else. |

Disney archives!!! Coolness! Geek on! Gina Torres - I don't remember which character she played but all the women on Serenity are amazingly hot. I want to do the indoor skydiving thing, too. Venice- I haven't been there in a while. I miss that crazy place! Congrats on setting up an amazing tour! |

Since it's officially on the intarwebs, I'll make this public here, too.
I was named a finalist for a Presidential Management Fellowship. It's not a job yet, but I will be attending the job fair in DC this month (you would not believe the deal on a totally SWANKY hotel I got - right in the middle of everything). There are some really interesting opportunities through this program. There are already some postings for jobs that would combine all my interests into one phenomenal career. They're not conventional legal practice, but they would definitely make use of my training, and several are sufficiently "legal-esque" that the experience would likely be seen as an asset if I wanted to transition to practice later. In fact, the DoJ specifically includes those coming out of the PMF program in the list of those who can apply for entry-level positions there. Anyhow, I'm very thrilled to have made it this far. If I am named as a fellow, it will likely result in my joining the bitter east coaster club; there are positions throughout the country, but most are in DC. It might lead to a new job and it might not - but it's an excuse for me to finally visit DC. |

Today I got to experience the second most satisfying part of my job (behind getting to spend a day installing a new piece of server or storage hardware). Found a bug, captured data, worked with a developer to find root cause. It was even my own guess that lead us down the right path. Good day.
