It is only fun if I don't know where exactly I'm going.

Not only do I frequently know how I'll get somewhere it isn't common for us to leave the house not actually knowing where we're going.

And, I'm betting, if you get there, you'd most likely sleep under the porch than on it. ;)

Euromonkey Johnson is right. This thing is sounding like it's going to be some sort of reality show in the making.
:D
I can't wait to see the obstacle course competition.

The prize for that is a one-way trip to Half Dome! ;)

I'm really starting to get concerned. MINIs are really not made for snow chains. Due to clearance issues, you need to get special low profile chains. And even those are only recommended on two sizes of tires. Bill is out with the car right now. I'll check when he gets back, but if I don't have the right size tires, we're fvcked! :(

ETA: Never mind... Lisa talked me off the ledge.

iSm- We should look into this route...

Google maps has a street view of the cabin. Plug in the address (provided in the OP) and click street view. Looks nice!

ETA: Or just click here.

How about skis? Turn that baby into a sled and enjoy the ride! :D

Not knowing where you are going is how you find cool stuff you didn't know about. I'm always down for that. Hell, I've had more fun not getting to places than i would have had I found what I was looking for.

You know, that Asilomar was one of those places I really wasn't sure of.

But, yeah, as a kid, my parents did not make any reservations. Anywhere. Live and learn. Maybe that is why I plan so much?
