The NEON ending floats from the 1977 edition of the parade burned their way into my memory, along with the soundtrack that OOZED the 70s.

To this day, I don't like the "To Honor America" float.

If you never saw the original ending - take a look at this.

Wow, I like that a lot better than To Honor America.

That's pretty neat!

Damn....I remember that!

I also remember being shocked when they replaced it with "Honor America".

WOW.

It's neat, but it kinda reminds me of WDW's Electrical Water Pageant (itself based on the Electrical Parade).

I never much cared for To Honor America .... UNTIL (and this is the one good thing about it being in DCA) we got an aerial view by watching from Robert Mondavi's outdoor terrace ... OMG, the unit is unbelievably fantastic from the God View ... not so much from the Street View.

I can tell you that the Electrical Parade is NOT the same one as was out originally in Disneyland. It can't be because I paid for and have possession of not one, but TWO of the original bulbs.

And just like a river is never the same one you saw a moment ago, because the water is different ....

Which is why I reserve the right to like a particular river one moment and be severely disappointed in it the next.
