Oh, I saw this at the museum when I was walking through the rainforest dome. Made me think of Borneio:

I don't think anyone else has posted this yet, but this is the cake Sohrshah made for me for my birthday. I think she did an awesome job on it:

OMG... We had thin mints for the first time today. Bewitched's Box Of GS Goodness arrived at the LashHouse and i think I could very easily eat a whole box in one sitting if not careful, especially with some lovely ice-cold milk. (HEY!, it's HOT here, OK? :D )

The other cookie we tried tonight was the Peanut Butter Patties. MMMMmmm - Mm! They're mighty good as well. Both boxes are in the freezer as the chocolate was starting to succumb to the heat

I will have to bring over some Mint Slice biscuits (think thin mints with some mint fondant on top, covered in chocolate), but we have NO peanut butter cookies at all downunder (that I know of).

Tasting will continue.....

Please tell me that particular Rafflesia display wasn't presented in Smell-O-Vision... Worse than rotting corpses, they say !

Home improvement update: No progress!

So, realizing that the bathroom fan housing did not seem to want to come out easily, we opted to try the upgrade kits mentioned by others in this thread. But we ran into the joys of owning a 30+ year old home. Apparently this fan was installed before the invent of such upgrade kits. The kits require the removal of the fan motor assembly AND the mounting plate. Unfortunately the mounting plate is not removable. Eff.

So back to trying to remove the housing. There's access to the attic space just feet from the fan, so I grabbed a ladder at home depot and got up there (OMG, 30 years of dust and dirt!! Eeeeew!). Carefully balancing on the ceiling joists, I could not see a way to get the housing down from up there either. A bit more research and I've concluded the best option is going to be to pick up a $12 pair of tin snips and hack the housing apart. Joy.

So, progress report after 3 weeks - nil. Hooray! But I'm picking up the snips today, hopefully they'll do the trick. I've got the replacement fan ready to go. Then I've got a 4 day weekend for Pres day which I hope will afford me the opportunity to get a good start and make a lot of progress on the closet.
