So first full day at the conference - some good some bad. The worst is no coffee service. The mornings are killing me. Thank god the Starbucks was open this morning - the barista earned a big tip for being open.

How can they have any sort of conference without serving coffee??? That makes no sense!

What's the LoT, chopped liver? Nothing preventing you from wasting time here.

Ah, now I know why Claire has graced us with her presence today.

We need buttons: LoT helped me avoid productivity!

Ahhhhhhh, it all becomes clear now. I sure hope they can get their issues resolved. What would a day be without MC?

So, there was a lightning strike at my job's building last night. Power was in and out, and finally the decission was made to go through and power everything down. We're back up this morning, but everything I had running overnight was, obviously, stopped.

That was a heck of a storm. We had a couple hours of lightning and thunder. I think I heard 4 separate cells move through. With all the talk of Rita I missed the fact that there was a storm tearing its way through Mexico. Thunder kept me up pretty late. There was one lightning strike directly over us, the thunder set off every car alarm in the neighborhood.

So I'm tired and I've lost a day's worth of work. Hooray!

*pout* The storms seem to have been stopped by the Grapevine. We did get enough rain to totally screw up my car, but not enough to get the seats wet (I keep my windows open a bit). I was up until well after 2am, and no thunder. I would love for it to rain some more. Nickolas rode his bike to school and he would be thrilled to get to ride it home in the rain.

I frickin' love this wonky weather! My bf was going nuts last night with the thunder (he doesn't "do" electrical storms), and admittedly sometimes it was quite disturbingly forceful, but hey, really AWESOME streaks of lightning! And I've been dying for it to rain again, so yay that!

The only thing that bugs me is the humid heat. Yesterday at lunch was annoyingly hot.

Mousey Girl 09-20-2005 02:39 PM

It is hot, sticky and verrrrrrrry windy up here. On the way to my claw appointment I had to drive slower than normal and keep the windows up due to the wind and dust. The sky is ominous and it should be a lot cooler than it is. Nickolas made it home ok, he did say that there was some really strong wind bugging him on his way home.
