They sell that in the occaisional Chinese supermarket. If you see fruit being sold on ice... just walk away!

(although I'm told it tastes like ice cream. I'll just eat ice cream, thanks)

It sounds like Vietnamese food is not up my alley. I do not have a sense of smell at all and my taste buds are very sensitive. Spicy foods are not my friend at all. There is no flavor for me there. It just burns my mouth!

In Singapore these signs are common:

(because of the smell should one break open, this sign is for the subway).

It smelled bad but didn't taste horrible.

Never had Durian, the Ranch 99 market in Foster City keeps them in the freezer section, and even then, they look scary and the scent as you walk by this end-cap of the freezer section, it would seem one probably broke at some point, PU! Phew!

BDB, most Vietnamese food is not spicy, hot spicy. Loads of good flavor is my description, some quite flowery and if you love garlic, well a good batch of garlic noodles will truly keep anyone of a Transalvanian nature far far away! Thems good eatz!

Recently, while visiting a Westminster Vietmanese market, they got a fresh (frozen) load of durian. There were TONS of people crowding around the display grabbing as many as they could. They had brought as many family members along as they could muster up because there was a limit of 2 per person. It was quite amazing.

But what is the fine if you do bring durian onto the subway?

They give you a choice:

A) Eat it and pay the $500 fine.
B) Burn it and pay the $5000 fine.

For some, it is a tough choice.

So this morning went I went to start my car, the battery was dead. I took this as a sign that today was my automotive health day and finally take care of all the maintenance I've been putting off becasue I was too busy. So far the totals up to $1800. I've got another three hours till the car is ready - I hope they found everything.

Now I'm starting to fear the Doctor and Dental appointments I've been putting off...

Ooh! My condolences E! Ouch!
Sending good mojo in the hopes that the mechanics have, indeed, identified all problem areas. Says she who is avoiding her 1000 brake job yet another week or two.

At least my breaks are fine
