Interesting suggestions, although I wouldn't recommend lavender to keep cats away; Boris *loves* the stuff.

my next cat will be named Sactown and i shall pet it all day. it will be toilet trained.

Thanks for the link, CP, but I've tried that kind of stuff. The thing is you constantly have to reapply anything you do like that. A good desert windstorm, rain, simply watering my lawn and plants, and the stuff is gone or loses effectiveness.....I spent more time reapplying the stuff than I did cleaning up cat poop.

MickeyLumbo petting ***** all day? Ha! I don't think so.

You must spread some Mojo around before giving it to ***** again.

When my neighbors cat was mauled to death from a dog running lose, I called the SPCA to report the dog. While they did agree to come out and warn the dog's owner, they also told me that there are leash laws for cats and that cat should not have been allowed to roam free. THE CAT WAS IN IT'S OWN YARD! This cat only came. to our house, to visit Nickolas when he was in his Exersaucer in front of the front door, and his own home area. This dog was a menace. He seemed to "get" free almost every night, and he was not a nice dog. At least PoohDog is nice if he gets out (he is only vicious in his own territory). The SPCA finally took the dog away, but their comment on the cat threw me.

Actually I was referring more to the plant ideas (except the lavender, thanks Pru for the tip :) ). I followed the link to the German anti-cat hybrid and had a good excuse to fire up the Google translator. Check it out.

The funeral is today. Nickolas went off to school, I will pick him up around 12. I need to take a shower, but for some reason I am having trouble getting moving.

Mousy Girl, I know how hard this is. you just have put one foot in front of the other and move through the strange dream world/hyper reality that accompanies this stuff. I think after the funeral you will have some time to really grieve which, thought painful, will be a good thing in the long run. Big hugs to you and your family. My heart goes out to you all.
