Christmas isn't coming up in our home until the weekend of the 8th. We'll be out-of-town for most of the first week in December, so we're not trusting Emmy with the tree while we're gone.

Kittens are good for some things - like keeping Christmas closer to Christmas. ;)

To be honest, and this isn't exactly "like me" - but I'm in the mood to have the holidays start early this year.

Here is something for you to look forward to: you get to experience a white Christmas this year!

But I really don't want them on until after Thanksgiving, we just had them on last night to make sure they worked. They're off now, I promise.

I have no problem with them going up early. Turning them ON before Thanksgiving is what will cause problems. But your intent is to not, so you are okay.

And since you are officially resolved to not light before Thanksgiving (after all, it is the intent that matters), please go ahead and turn them on once just to issue a pox upon GC. He deserves it.

Here is a picture of the house with the lights on. Notice there is a Mickey Thanksgiving flag by the front door, not a Christmas one yet ;)

You need more lights. So many, in fact, that Kevy can see it from his house.
:D

I like the lights, Brigitte.

No gifts at Christmas?!?! That's un-American!!! What would the stores do if we all stopped giving Christmas presents? Preposterous!! You better keep that kind of talk to yourself, or Homeland Security will come knocking at your door!!

<tongue planted firmly in cheek, of course>

Now I need to make some large lighted presents to put under the tree...

We do our gift giving throughout the year- Christmas is for being with family and friends, and pointing and laughing at the people stressing over "what to get"- and lot's of pie... and bacon.

I'm with MW on this one.
My parents already asked me what I wanted for Christmas and initially the request was going to be for a digital camera. Now, I think I'm just going to send them the address to my credit card payment centers and say, "Have at it. Whatever you can donate will be appreciated."
:D

:D I work at a store with a big bullseye...my job is to encourage sales. Credit cards. I just can't do it.

I agree, we get things all year long. It is time we don't share so easily.

I love the lights, too!! Your house looks so pretty!! {you need a cricket somewhere, like in Mercer Meyer....ir is that a grasshopper??}
