Well, if it's any consolation, I have a pretty good excuse for why I can't come to this wonderful shindig. I'm helping create a Disney-type fantasy with a Hawai'i twist to the local kids here. Adding to the Disney-esque nature of the show, I asked the director, music director and the whole cast if we could stick around after the show is done to do a meet-n-greet with the people who came to see the show. We'd be in costume and in character and available for photos. It's mostly because of our Sleeping Beauty princess character, the little girls wanted to meet her and pose with her for pics. I did feel that the show ends too abruptly and we disappear really quick (it's a long curtain call for 25 people... the audience would get sore hands if we let it go on for too long).
So, I get to be Bashful in front of the kids and get to work on some improv, too. The director agreed wholeheartedly. Tomorrow we start that. I can't wait.

Wow - this is a GREAT picture. It looks like it required a lot of dodging/burning in the print process (what was needed before Photoshop), but absolutely striking. I love it!

Yep, you have to put yourself in the pre-pre-photoshop mindset to appreciate it. One of my faves.

Heh, in looking up some detail about dodging and burning (I know the high level concept, was curious about the specifics) I found the wiki page which uses a photo of Albert Schweitzer as a prime example of the technique.

For the record - I have loved all of the updates, Steve! You always know how to do this stuff the right way. :snap:

I remember Stevie's Disneyland's 50th party. All the way by the Neverland Pool on the ground I could hear Steve laughing from his room. Top floor, I believe. What a great party that was.

In attending this party I don't think I'm commemorating Disneyland's 55th anniversary so much as commemorating the 5th anniversary of the awesomeness that was the 50th - Steve's party being a good portion of that.
