In the end, though, I'm glad we never used our Jump Start or any assistance* - and so came within a minute or two of finishing "under our own steam," so to speak.

What kills is that if we'd read the Quick Quests envelope more carefully about the double penalties, we would not have wasted time going to MA Central to take the Jump Start ... and so would have finished the race officially.

Ah well. There are many other "what ifs" - many in the final hour of the game - that would also have led us to an official finish.

But I would suggest mouseadventure reconsider this particular policy and avoid it at all costs in the future. It breeds distrust. It's lowball and frankly, complete shenanigans of unfairness.

Oh, I feel it's only fair to add that some of the staff were so sweet in giving us a helpful hint they didn't have to ... and that's been my consistent experience over the long, long years I've played.

Does anyone have any thing to say about the basic game? I see a lot of complaints and frustrations about the Enchanted race, but I havent seen anything about Basic.

I have no idea how we did, how the bears felt after, if I got penalized for giving my business card to another team... etc

I know that i am beyond frustrated now... afraid I didnt really give the bears a fighting chance to win.. but I really wanst trying to win.
I wanted the guys to have a good time, and be albe to say that they have done an MA.

So yes, while on the train I used my phone, told someone to quit texting me, I was busy. So that she'd stop getting snittier with each passing hour.
Because darn it, we were just trying to get through it! At least I was.
Ever tried playing MA with a 10 year old who gets bored? yeah... frustrating to say the least.

Anyway.. this is my public apology to the bears. Darn it... I knew better on the bronze statues. I should have re thought that.

But you know what guys? We tried. We didnt kill each other, Stoat got over being mad at himself, and we all lived through it. Spilled ice cream and all.

The Bears had a blast, and didn't say a bad thing about their awesome team mate.

BTW, Pru, I keep forgetting to tell you. While playing, I saw a guy wearing an Aquaman t-shirt and thought of you.

Ponine 04-29-2009 11:19 AM

You're sweet. Thank you.

I'm in MA regret mode where I see all the mistakes I made and get uber frustrated.

I saw the Aquaman shirt too... wondered where it came from.

innerSpaceman 04-29-2009 11:29 AM

The Bears had fun.

If you were trying to show them a good time, rather than trying to win per se, I'd say you had exactly the right attitude.

Clearly it was a physical manifestation of Pru's unconscious psyche.

I have a multitude of powers.

However, if the guy wasn't singing about his plan to conquer the world, I was not entirely successful.

CoasterMatt 04-29-2009 11:03 PM

What if he was doing an interpretive dance of his plans to take over the world?

Let me (us) tell you,

We had the BEST time playing Mouseadventure. We were afraid that we were holding you back from scoring, but you know what? I wouldn't have changed anything about the game at all. We had fun, challenges, laughs, and a fantastic team who knows that the best way to enjoy life is to stop for a big fantastic Icecream Sundae.

Life's too short to worry about mistakes (or even just plain overlooking stuff, which is what the LashPair did with timothy Mouse and Jiminy Cricket), and as far as participating and being proud of our effort, this Mouseadventure exceeded our expectations.

Aussie, Aussie, Callifornians, Oi, Oi, Oi. :snap:

(and I still can't find the placings online for the Basic division)
