Thanks bluerica and BTD. I will take your advice. It's not worth standing around in the cold for hours and then not getting one. That would not be swanky.

The numbers, they make my brain hurt.

Current headline in the local paper (although it's an AP story, so it could be anywhere):

Quote:

Student slain to death near U of Chicago
Really? Slain to death? Let's check the online Merriam-Webster. Ah, they must be using the second definition: "to delight or amuse immensely <slayed the audience>". Must have died laughing.

I'm not necessarily saying not to do it. I'd only do it if I had someone decent to hang out with who's a good sport about stuff like that, or I had something really fun to do, like play on a PSP or something... The downside is that they often just have one or two of an item. I went last year for a laptop that was $200 with sweetness written all over its specs... sure enough, they only had a couple and I wandered around Best Buy hoping they'd have a decent price on CD-RWs.

So, we just need to find you a gay cowboy who cooks....

I bought a package of those frosted animal cookies from the vending machine today. They were all stuck together in one big lump in the bag. It looked like a big sugary animal orgy.

Tasty too. :D

That has to be the most horrifying sign I've ever seen. I'm so confused now. Those words at the top should not even be in the same sentence, let alone thought!

OK... I'm ready to jump on the Hi-Def DVD bandwagon. Here's the dilemma of the week: HD-DVD players can be had for around $150, while Blu-Ray machines start at more than twice that. Disney/Pixar is exclusively Blu-Ray, so it looks like Blu-Ray wins in this household (at least for now). This weekend, Wal-Mart will be having a "secret sale" - $499 for a 80GB PS3 with 10 free movies (plus 5 more by mail). But is it worth spending the $$ for a game console that I will probably never use for anything but movies? Should I just buy the movies and wait for a cheaper player after Christmas? Should I wait for Blu-Ray to lose the format wars and pick up the Disney movies when they come out in HD-DVD?

I know that this is a ridiculous dilemma - but does anyone have any opinions?
