I have to make a pie tomorrow. Mom already claimed the pumpkin pie, so I'm doing something in the pecan family. Should I do cranberry pecan or chocolate pecan?

How about cranberry chocolate pecan?

On second thought, never mind.

In the last 3.5 hours I have done the following:

washed and put away laundry
a complete unit of homework (and it's "Thanksgiving Break")
cleaned the bathroom
filed a ton of papers
set up my computer desk so I on;y have to plug in my computer when I bring it home
shredded cheese for tomorrow
ran and emptied the dishwasher

I rule and can now participate in fun and debauchery this weekend with nothing nagging in the back of my mind.

I've done absolutely nothing productive today, and I'm thankful for that.

I've been blowing up kids on UT3 something fierce tonight

I was watching "Pushing Daisies" interspersed with ads for J. C. Penney's after Thanksgiving sale which starts at 4:00 AM on Friday and I was having flashback nightmares about my days in retail. When I started working at May Co. (yes, that was a while back) the last week or so before Christmas we would open an hour early (9 AM) and close an hour later (10 PM) to accomodate Christmas shopping. When I finally left that job we were opening at 8 AM and staying open until 11 PM or midnight almost all the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas day was just a blip in between the madness of Christmas Eve and the insanity of the day after Christmas sales.

I'm so glad I don't do that anymore.

Now that I don't have to shop for in-laws I get to sleep in on Friday. :)

Here I sit, wanting to go to bed..my phone rings. It is a crying Boy. He is verrrrry tired and with his dad tonight. He wants me to come get him. I called his dad and told him to go talk to his tired son and call me back. His dad had no idea why or how he was that upset. I had to explain that he is tired, that he gets up with me at 5:30am and it is now an hour past his bedtime.

*sigh*

I love my son with all my heart, but I do not want to go get him. He has been "helping" with the deep pit and is covered with dirt. He was so looking forward to tonight with his dad. I hope they can talk it out.

I guess I will find my pants and get ready to go...

When I posted on my LJ about getting a second job, meaning Disneyland, my mom suggested that the larger retailers paid better. I told her there was no way I was working retail on Black Friday.
