Should be no problem with accessories...it's the damn game station that's a problem.

finding a Wii mote last Christmas and after was a nightmare-

Just want to get it early so it's not a worry.

I spent the morning sleeping. I'm spending this afternoon working. Not missing the Black Friday nightmare. Did it one year; it was awful. I was glad we had a rental car that year, cuz someone scraped the side of the car. And didn't leave a note.

Anti-Black-Friday here. Not shopping, not even online. Must admit, it feels good!

Doing laundry instead, not so much fun, but must be done!

Even though I cooked for just one, still plenty of leftover for the rest of the weekend. So no more cooking for me.

I am looking forward to "cyber-Monday".

And I will be hitting the malls tomorrow with a friend to find a dress for the office xmas party.

I drove to DL yesterday afternoon and parked in Mickey & Friends in order to meet up with my son and his girlfriend (they're both cast members) and ride with them to her grandparents house. The girlfriend's mom's family is Mexican, her dad's is Japanese, and the Korean nuns living next door kept bringing over extra food. Just your typical American Thanksgiving.

When they drove me back to my car I just had time to walk up to the top level and watch the fireworks. I love how the loudest ones reverberate in the structure.

Today is "Buy Nothing Day."

Groceries excepted, because ya gotta eat.

Same here.

Two main reasons why I'm anti:

1) I used to work in retail and was subject to much abuse by tired and stressed customers. I saw the worst behavior come out in people, just over stupid material items.

2) To me, it's idiotic to waste HOURS of time to save a few bucks on crap no one really needs. By the time people break down the time spent in line, driving, hunting down the items, etc., their time isn't even worth $2 an hour. Money can be earned and stashed for the right time to buy things (there are "hot deals" all year long if people know where to look). Time spent can never be regained, especially cutting time short with family, just to go shopping.

Ken and I spent last night enjoying our first fire in the fireplace, and watched some TV while snuggling on the couch, and then played some games, all the way through midnight. To us, the time spent together is worth far more than saving 50% on some gadget.

I feel the same way, DP and MF. I understand the lure of a possible good deal (and I say possible because very few people are actually lucky enough to get those ultra cheap items) but how much is a person's time worth? The store just wants to get your ass in there- they know that once in, you are going to buy something even if it's not a good deal simply because you're already there.

No shopping today either. But then about 95% of my days are "no shopping" days (the majority of the other 5% are of the grocery variety) so that's nothing special.

I'll gladly play four or five times as much for something if it means I don't have to wait in a line or be crushed by other shoppers so obviously "Black Friday" (and how I hate that phrase) does nothing for me.
