Ok, I accidentally bought something today. Went to Big Lots for a dvd recordable. I knew they'd be out and really wasn't planing on buying it. They were out, so I got a couple of $2 dvd's - Frankenstien, People Vs. Larry FLint and Mr. Deeds - :)

I didn't go to any traditional store....went to Company D! Love picking up stuff there. Got $150.00 of goodies for $50.00!

I got another pair of free movie tickets, popcorn, and a nice letter from our GM- it was a wonderful day.

My sole foray out of the house today was to take out the trash. :)

I had a voice lesson and bought lunch at the greek restaurant, but no other shopping for me!

The store just wants to get your ass in there- they know that once in, you are going to buy something even if it's not a good deal simply because you're already there.

I woke up early, showered, grabbed a cup of coffee and hit the road. It was a little after 5 a.m. I was glad it wasn't foggy, I was glad there wasn't traffic. I enjoyed my 'music' on the way in, singing and dancing in my car.

Then I turned in to the parking lot....people were wrapped around the store!!! I couldn't believe it. I was pissed because A} the parking lot was full {and I worry about it on a regular day, this was ear-regular} and B} that meant all of the people would be coming in to the store!!! Yikes!!!

It was crazy but the people weren't too bad. It was pretty controlled, I didn't see any fighting. The store provided tamales and fixins' for lunch {nice touch}. But, it was also new schedule day and, again, a lot of people had few days.

Hubby just said he wants to go shopping now. Hmm. I will go with him since I already took a nap.

I wish I were at Disneyland.

So it looks like MySpace is mining my profile favorites to serve up adds tailored to my wants this includes such things as:

Quote:

Charles Bukowski Ringtone
Get Charles Bukowski Ringtone? 100% Complimentary – Download Now!
So what exactly would that be? Mickey Roarke toasting to all his friends? The sound of the morning after? Mind you, I love Charles Bukowski, but I'm not sure I want him for a ringtone.

Quote:

Charles Bukowski Music
Hear all the Charles Bukowski hits. Get cool exclusives & downloads!
This one's marginally better - but "Charles Bukowski Hits?" Can't wait to hear K-Tel hock that on e on late night TV.

Equally amusing is:
Quote:

Marcel Duchamp Music
Sing your own versions of your favorite songs. Be discovered!
I guess there are no spoken word albums under his name, but does this mean Duchamp is the Dada patron saint of Karaoke? Or does it pose the deeper question of what is art and what is music?

At least this one knows Duchamp is a visual artist and even connected a painting of his:

Quote:

Become Marcel Duchamp
Paint a Nude Descending a Staircase Blick Art Materials. We Sell Online
I just wonder if Blick Art Materials will also sell me a urinal and a broken chocolate grinder - or at least a fine chess set and a nude woman.

I wonder when Nietzsche will start appearing in my add - offering to add inches with his Will to Power technique?

Every time I see the Tony Chachere's commercial on TV (Food Network seems to show it a lot) the only thing it brings to mind is high blood pressure. Not to mention the creepy look on their faces as they're pouring on the seasoning. Must be laced with crack.

The car alarm symphony is AWESOME.

All it needs is some beying hound dogs and caterwauling cats, and it would be like the ultimate cacophony.
