YAY ! Originals !

Now: I need to teach you the way of the "Tim Tam Orgasm" (also known by other names, but none so evocative of what happens the first time you try it).
  • Take one Tim Tam, and nibble off two diagonally opposing corners.
  • Dip one corner in a cup of coffee (not too hot or you'll scald yourself) and suck the coffee up through the biscuit - about 2-3 swallows should do it.
  • As soon as you feel your fingers sinking into the softened biscuit (quick now), pop the whole biscuit into your mouth and let it explode in a gooey chocolatey symphony of delight and culinary ecstacy.
  • Do it again with another one.

Today was Pug Day. I entered Thurston in the Haute Dog Pug Parade. The Pug Parade was part of a smoosh faced celebration which included a Bull Dog Beauty Contest and pagents for French Bulldogs and Senior Dogs. Thurston not only was in the Top 10 but he won the Best Legs competition! He got fabulous prizes and lots of love and kisses.

I wonder if he'll make the papers?

Good for Thurston!

Quiet day here. Spent a bunch of money on bike stuff. Cooking dinner now. How exciting, huh? And watching Tour of California coverage. For the first half an hour of the broadcast they had no signal from out on the course due to the rain. They've got one now, so we can see the laps around Santa Rosa. In the rain. That's got to be awful.

I'm so glad this is a three-day weekend because I think I lost a day somewhere amidst the fun and naps.

Oh, you "government types" get all the holidays! Our office* is closed NEXT Tuesday, but I have to take a vacation day. (It's only our New Orleans office, all others have no clue that there's anything special going on.)

Barkus was this weekend, but I decided to do a couple of regular parades instead. Unfortunately, the offical Barkus website has exceeded it's bandwidth for the month. I did snag (literally, from the air) a strand of glass beads, though!

I'll probably skip the parade on Wednesday - but Thursday -->Tuesday I'll probably go to most if not all of the Uptown parades (well, maybe only part of one on Tuesday so the Mayor can see my costume, before we head down to the Quarter). Fingers crossed that the weather holds. It's been showery off and on for this weekend, but never while I've been watching a parade!

Monday night when I got to the gym the song playing over the sound system was "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by I don't know who the band is. The same song was playing when I got to the gym Thursday night. Okay, it was the same time as Monday so they're playing the same loop. But today in the middle of the afternoon at a completely different Bally's they're playing the same song when I walk in.

By the way, I've never seen "Breakfast at Tiffany's" so we don't have that in common.

Lance tweeted that it was his worst day on a bike. Did you hear about his time trial bike being stolen? Assholes.

On Sports Center they said that he should know that the Alamo doesn't have a basement.
