Mousepod, is there an interesting backstory to that little gem of an audio clip? Did it go out live on radio or...?

My plans are still in effect, and possibly more in tact than I could have ever imagined, thanks to some crafty vacation days I've decided to take. Leaves me open for a weekend of total fun and debauchery! Oh yeah! Plus, I took off Monday. :smart girl:

I'll be in chicago the week before, and my boss keeps trying to make me extend my stay through Firday the 15th, but I asked for it off in the beginning of the year and have been standing firm - not sure of the exaxt plans yet, but I'll be flying home on Thursday to be at the park on Friday.

BarTopDancer 06-27-2005 01:32 PM

In honor of this wonderful weekend my office has decided to close at noon.

OK, not really in honor if it, but we are closing at noon. Not sure if I'll be going to the park or what Friday. I'll be there sometime on Saturday and Sunday for sure.

Have no idea what plans/parties are in being planned, where any meets are or anything, so if someone wants to fill me in that would be awesome.

And I have Monday off.

Lordy, every moment of far-beyond 50 hours is jammed with stuff.

There's a really swanky cocktail party as a sort of kick-off event on Friday night that looks to be ultra-cool. I'd hep you all to where that is, but I think the hosts have limited the invite list to 50 people to coincide with the anniversary in some sort of Baggins going-away party mode. (ok, i made that up)

Saturday is phase one of the Disneyland thru the Decades Attraction Quest, and everyone is invited to play along - with start time and location to be announced. We're gonna try to hit 6 attractions that day - one from each decade plus one from opening day. Then there's some park meets and cocktail meets from various Disney websites, a couple of which I will try to attend. I have a feeling there will be late-night shenanigans at the Park Inn International on Harbor, where many of the hard-partying out-of-towners will be staying.

Sunday's the big-day and we are going to start the second phase of the Disneyland thru the Decades Attraction Quest pretty much right after park opening - with a run thru the Fantasyland Castle, a ride on Peter Pan, and then five more in quick succession before the Park gets too crowded to move. There's some kind of ceremony at 4:30 that afternoon. I'll probably camp out for fireworks on the birthday, because there won't be much moving around in the heavy crowds expected for that day. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join me (us) in the hub, where we will be recounting all of our favorite personal Disneyland experience stories through the ages. Natch, we'll all be staying in the Park till final Main Street closing, and the crowds might even thin around 11:30!

Some of us are even going to be in the Park on Monday, the 18th (which, ahem, is the anniversary of the Park opening to the public). It will be nice to do some Disneyland with (hopefully) sparser crowds and a more relaxed atmosphere as the conclusion of the marathon anniversary experience.

I'm sure more news of parties and meets and whatnot will keep coming up for the next 3 weeks. It's going to be the busiest, and most fun, weekend - like ever!

You rock iSm!

In honor of this weekend I shall use my early office closing for a nap cause I have a feeling thats all the sleep I'll get this weekend.

Anyone know where a BN is around DLR? Some of us need our HP fix. (Ya, I know I can look on their site but I'm directionally challenged).

The nearest Barnes and Noble to Disneyland is at the Orange Town & Country, 791 South Main Street, Suite 100. However, I don't think they carry any Hewlett Packard products.

€uroMeinke 06-27-2005 08:06 PM

So - what day shall we attempt to do all the attractions?

Not Afraid 06-27-2005 08:06 PM

Compass Books at DTD may be the answer to the world's HP problems.
