Daniell was shot in the shoulder. I have a feeling she isn't dead.

Ghoulish Delight 03-21-2008 12:44 PM

I'm thinking Ben's behind the shooting. He gives them a route, and the two people trying to take Alex away from him get picked off. Coincidence? No such thing when Ben's involved.

BarTopDancer 03-21-2008 12:48 PM

GD, I thought the same thing.

Did they say why Whitmore didn't want anyone to find the island?

sleepyjeff 03-21-2008 01:00 PM

Here's what I don't get.

Micheal.

From the time Micheal left the Island until Naomi parachuted onto the Island only 20-25 days have gone by.

How did he go from the South Pacific all the way to NY, deal with customs, get a new apartment, drop Walt off with granny, have time for arguments and self loathing, multiple suicide attempts, healed from a car crash, meet Tom, get hired on the boat (that we were told was a hand picked crew by Naomi and Addabon) fly to Fiji, sail on the freighter all to meet back less than 4 weeks island time?

Wouldn't the hospital stay alone take that long?

Oh, I definitely think he's responsible, sending them to "safety" after eeeevily eye-balling how that boy was holding Danielle's waist. Granted, he doesn't want her to get pregnant and DIE, but I think he overreacted a bit with all the shooting. Heh.

I'd say your first few points (namely, getting back and dealing with entry) were probably taken care of by Ben's people. Somehow I doubt he got back in the country in any sort of official way, seeing as he'd been declared dead and all. But yeah, that did seem to be a rather miraculous recovery from the car accident. Island Magic I suppose is the only answer we have right now (or bad writing).

What I find interesting is that everything crazy that's happened up until now could theortically be explained by science. Smoke monster? Sure, smoke monster machine. But a gun and bullets from a pawn shop that doesn't blow your head off, now you're talking Big Magic. (it just occured to me that maybe pawn guy is in on it...)

Well, there wast that pawn shop woman in Desmond's flashback.

But, at this point I think it's pretty clear that the Island is magical. Possibly even sentient. Ponder, ponder.

Also, though it seems obvious to me that Ben set up the shooting, I also think they writers may want us to think that, especially after Juliet's episode. We don't know where Frank is, or those gun happy troops from the boat. They could have knocked off the two, and held off shooting Danielle. If it were Ben's people, they wouldn't shoot her. And if they are Whitmore's people, they may keep her alive as a hostage, since she's Ben's "daughter."

You know what, it's even worse than what I stated. Micheal left the Island on day 67. Ben called Micheal sometime before day 82(the day the others left otherville)....that's only 15 days!

Wait, it gets better....
Daniel, Frank, and Miles' flashbacks prove that the wreckage was found two months after the plane went missing, ok? That's 60 days.

So, Michael got all the way home, tried to commit suicide, twice, meets Tom in the alley--before he then saw the news report of the plane wreckage:eek:

60 minus 67 equals negative 7.

Tom and Ben have said he plans to exploit it for personal gain.

CP - I think Tom switched guns on him and gave him a gun without a firing pin.

sleepyjeff - The timeline definitely seems screwy. That was bugging me throughout the episode. It just seems like the writers tried to cram too much into too little time. Unless this is some strange island time vs real time phenomenon.
