We have that already... It's called Jack FM.

Don't be fooled - that station is as highly programmed and researched as any other corporate station

But it seems completely random, and I can't listen to it for more than 15 minutes without going "WTF?".

Whew! I found it. Safe at last.

Having had taken classes in radio programming, I can hear a lot of their clock (the hourly programming of what is played).

Their are a chain of stations across the country called "Jack" and a few called "Dave" (and I think a couple called "Jane"). I am not sure if they are all owned by one company, but they all have the same concept and probably use the same consultant.

There are also a bucket load of "Star" radio stations, "Kiss" (known as KIIS here in LA), "Magic", etc.

If I did, I sure as well wouldn't be able to post. ;)

Nah, my dad gave me a brand new photo/slide scanner and his 6-month-old all-in-one scanner/fax/copier/printer. I set some time aside today to set them up. They're schweeeeeeet. :D

This morning I discovered that the distant sound of machine gun fire sounds just like the last gurgling moments of coffee brewing in a drip coffee maker - then again, maybe I just needed a cup.

I hear machine gun fire every day (we live two blocks away from an Army Support Training Center) so I'm going to have to say you just needed a cup.

To me it sounds more like a car driving over a rumble strip.

And it is amazing how quickly it just fades away into standard background noise.
