13th Anniversary of the Kobe earthquake, too

Al Capone's birthday, too- and one more fun thing that happened on this date-

Jan 17 1961

President Eisenhower warns us of the evils of the "military industrial complex". Did we listen carefully enough?

Sadly, he's probably allergic.

The docs aren't sure what he's allergic to, so they took him off everything that's typically in catfood. (Thus, the actual fuss over his bread thievery - other than the fact that it was some damn good bread).

Markus is on a prescription limited ingredient diet of duck and peas. (Which he may develop an allergy to later... gah!)

So, I guess I could pick up some duck and say, "Pookie want ducky?"

I had to cut my nails... I can't type worth a crap.

We are getting new keyless locks on all of our doors. The locks use fingerprints to access the doors. My nails were too long to be able to read my fingerprint. *sigh*

I'm glad to hear Pookie2 is dong well! I can't wait to see pics of him.

Thurston is doing ok. His eye hasn't ruptured, so that's a good thing. He HATES his e-collar - even though I've decorated it with puffy stickers that spell out his name and additional puffy pirate stickers. I'm scaring Chris.

Are you looking at the words per minute or the characters per minute? Misleadingly, characters per minute is the number at the top with words per minute hidden a bit on the left.

Alex 01-17-2008 06:45 PM

And I'd say it is a little fast since my speed is getting clocked in the mid-90s but in more official settings I've never gone reliably over 85 or so. Of course, that could be a product of not having to do any punctuation except the occasional apostrophe and by sticking to the most common words you are mostly sticking to the most common letters and that is what a QWERTY keyboard is designed to facilitate.

Morrigoon 01-17-2008 06:51 PM

Yeah, the characters per minute was like in the 700's.

Alex 01-17-2008 06:57 PM

Wow, then even if it is a bit fast in its measurement you are extremely fast.

That or your system clock is slow so that the javascript is giving you extra time. But that seems unlikely.
