I wish I could go to the Sept 5th event... I will be in Florida, sweating it out on opening game for the Gators.

I should eat bacon-wrapped gator tail in honor of the occasion. I bet it would be good.

Remind me to make these when you come back (soon, I hope) because Club Crackers are way better than Saltines!

A Club cracker is so much better. I love their buttery goodness.

Morrigoon 08-25-2009 01:40 PM

Club crackers are somewhere between a saltine and a Ritz cracker... more in the direction of the Ritz cracker in terms of buttery goodness.

JWBear 08-25-2009 01:56 PM

I always thought Club crackers were more buttery than Ritz.

SzczerbiakManiac 08-25-2009 06:11 PM

I concur. Butter scale is Saltine < Ritz < Club

Sigh, I'm putting this in spoiler tags because it's somewhat contrary to the spirit of this thread, but it's an important note about bacon.

The intro to this very fine but disturbing article on the health crisis in America:

The waste produced by the pig and his thousands of pen mates on the factory farm where they live goes into manure lagoons that blanket neighboring communities with air pollution and a stomach-churning stench. He's fed on American corn that was grown with the help of government subsidies and millions of tons of chemical fertilizer. When the pig is slaughtered, at about 5 months of age, he'll become sausage or bacon that will sell cheap, feeding an American addiction to meat that has contributed to an obesity epidemic currently afflicting more than two-thirds of the population. And when the rains come, the excess fertilizer that coaxed so much corn from the ground will be washed into the Mississippi River and down into the Gulf of Mexico, where it will help kill fish for miles and miles around. That's the state of your bacon — circa 2009.

Cool... now I'm hungry. It's good to be at the top of the food chain

I'm starting to think this meme might have jumped the shark.

The Bacon Bra.
