Egads!!! I just read these last few posts....a few weeks ago we had no water....don't know if this situation would have applied but before that a plumber was pointing out our water heater and saying it needed some type of release thing-a-ma-jig or else if something happened we could have a problem with it overheating or something. Damn. I should pay better attention. In my defense, I was terribly ill when he came by. And, he turned out to be a shiester. Haven't called him back. Glad to hear all is well. Right? GC~ a dream about Garth Brooks? Now what brought that on? Were you a fan before all of the subliminal suggestions? :D Just curious. Cause I once had a dream about Kid Rock. Thank God I awoke prior to anything really happening....I never ever ever ever had a positive thought about that man.... |

Sigh. Given the opportunity, do you go to Orlando for two days (well, redeye landing Saturday morning, redeye out Sunday night) because the fates have aligned so you can have a last hurrah with your soon-to-be expat family? Or do you try to see them some other time and save your money for an Orlando trip later on?
I ask because... that seems to be the situation here. Tom's new gig (you'll love it but I'll let him tell you about it) will allow him to take that weekend (and pretty much that specific weekend only; fates aligned) off but no other days around it. I could take an extra day or two there, but I'm sad that I'd miss him, and that we'd be rushed trying to cram in his first WDW experience in just two days there. And not even two full days... I couldn't, for instance, take him to Boma one night and see IlllumiNations another night. (And I know better than to imagine we could swing both.) But then, I am reminded that the trip isn't about him, it's about the expat family. I would really like to see them before they depart for Milan. Nevertheless, we're just not a vacation-without-each-other couple, and those two days are going to be whirlwind. I probably have the vacation days available to go back, but we have broader travel interests than going to Orlando twice in one year. |
Oh, 2 days would never be enough for me. ;) But I don't think I would consider that a vacation at all nor a "two times this year" since the focus realy isn't the Parks.

News from the Frozen North:
We're getting hit with another major storm; outside, the wind is howling and snow is pouring. Can anyone say 10 foot drifts? The area schools are still closed, which is virtually unheard of up here, especially for this duration. They gave up and said no classes until next week. I may try to go to work tomorrow, but if we get more than 3-4 inches of snow I'm stuck home. I'll be sure to post more pics so all you SoCal people can mock me. |

YIKES!!! Yes, that is what he said we need. We have the valve part, just not the tube part. Which, he said would leave water to shoot all over the place, burning us. He never said all of that would happen!!!! Is this a legally required piece??? Oh, and, I found out what was driving the cat nuts...a mouse! Hopefully just one. Damnit. |
Ugh, WB! We're expecting more here, which is starting to become depressing. I'd rather have one giant storm that keeps everything from moving than one that keeps me digging out my car when I want to go somewhere and makes everything really dangerous on the roads. I think we're getting you're follow-up storms... :( It's as though the weather is mocking my noobie-ness out here. Snow, snow, snow... glimmer of hope... haha! More snow!
Still feeling under the weather out here. The head cold is slowly getting worse, and I'm not sure what's up with it. I am still going to try to make it out to a job expo in south Salt Lake, which is quite a distance, mostly because there are a couple of companies attending that I am really interested in meeting face-to-face. The snowy/icy roads aren't making it any more appealing, so we'll see how the weather pans out for tomorrow morning. |
Wendy! Don't go out! They're having avalanches!

Well I'm not sure why I care, or why I am posting this but BritBrit has been committed to UCLA under a 5150.
