Slight derail: one of my favorite artists is Dave Archer. He basically creates his "canvases" by spreading isopropyl alcohol on a sheet of glass then hitting it with a Tesla Coil. The IP alcohol/Tesla Coil combination creates beautiful rainbow effects. He then paints the glass on the back, starting with the details first then filling in the background behind it. I am fortunate enough to own an original, albeit a very small one (I understand that he has stopped creating art because the electricity was wreaking havoc on his body).

Ive seen those at Comic Con I think. there were some really good sized versions on display. theyre incredible...and to say the least, not what I could call 'inexpensive'

nice investment in some really cool art.

I think I paid about $800 for an original that is about 5" x 7". I wonder what it is worth today.

Back then (early 90's), the larger pieces were going for $25,000-$30,000. Just a touch out of my range.
