I'm playing his music right now. Set up a new playlist on my iPod for my favorite stuff by him.

The freaky part - put that playlist on shuffle, and the first song to play was "Gone Too Soon".

I am really in shock. I'm gonna be having a few drinks tonight and playing his music. So much for getting work done. I just... can't. In a way, I just want to dance. :(

We all know he was acquitted. According to my grandmother, after the jury was told to dismiss certain testimony and ignore certain evidence, there was nothing left to convict him on. But, she has always been adamant that he obviously did it, whether the legal system deemed it so or not. I can't ignore that.

Still, he was a brilliant entertainer and his contributions to music are so monumental that he changed the face of the artform and there will never again be anyone like him. His genius will be missed, whether his other actions are or not.

CNN just reported the official coroner release that he's dead.

I know.

Even in death, people will not just leave him alone.

So, I wonder who everyone is going to pick on now? MJ's only left so much material for "comedians", and it'll run dry very quickly.

I've seen a few that are so funny that I feel bad for laughing at them. Won't post them yet...

Let me know first, so I can make sure to post a few about some of the great late jazz legends at the same time.

I'm really sad. I got to see him in concert (sneaked in, actually: we paups were all sitting outside the stadium in Parramatta listening to the concert when security flung open a gate near the front of the stage (to let people out, we assume) but it was only the 4th to last song of the concert - we all crushed in, and got to stand at the front of the stage for the last 3 songs !! ) and I love his music.

If I hear a recording of "Ben" anytime soon, I'm gonna cry for sure.

Blech... Al Sharpton is on TV right now using Jackson's death as a soapbox to bitch about race. What a tool.
