Postcards from the Edge

Hey Flippyshark, thanks for the way cool PC from Japan! Glad you enjoyed the chocolate! ;)

It's tacked up on my board here at work for inspiration for the 2009 Tokyo Swanking!

I got a new toy yesterday- a Blackberry Pearl 8130. Now I can check out the LoT at work! (Once I figure the damn thing out, that is).

It's shiny.

Hey, good news: by the time I read this, it was tomorrow. So your misery should be over!

Yay for BB Pearl! I love mine!

LoT is cumbersome on it - LoT isn't super mobile-friendly.

Just to be a bit defensive....vBulletin isn't super mobile-friendly, it's not just the lot.

That's true. It's cumbersome on my Q as well.

So, I read this article about how shelters have a harder time getting their darker-haired doggies adopted: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23472518/?GT1=43001

how truly odd. never something that would occur to me, but yeah, next shelter dog I snag will be black, just to try and break the cycle.

those doggie eyes will haunt me the rest of the day, no doubt

I've heard about the cat thing, and figured as much was true for the dogs. It's really an interesting phenomenon, one that I didn't try to play into when picking out Markus (who we chose part for personality, part for getting him into a good home after spending over a year in shelters). I personally love black animals, and have had mostly positive experiences with their personalities, though I can see how they're easier to walk past. I like the local Humane Society. The 'prices' for the black dogs and cats are generally lower, and they have certain months where they put a special on harder to adopt cats and dogs, correlating it with some fact of the month. I think it's pretty cool, anyway.

Sad truth about those poor animals, indeed.

Black cats are usually difficult to adopt out as well.
