And this is why I swore I'd never play a MUD or anything like them ever again. Eventually the creator or the organizers or whomever decide that they need to make the game more fun for THEM, and they start messing with the player characters. And if they run the game, it's their prerogative to do that. And it's my prerogative to take my time elsewhere.

Some people in the forums said that people were turning invisible and that there was no remedy for it. Maybe there is a remedy. Maybe there isn't. I don't want to put a bunch of time into this only to have to restart so that this Jick person can get his jollies.

Also, the theory I've heard most often is that there's a perceived problem with people having multiple accounts, so they are killing off lots of characters to reduce the population.

Most often? You just found out about the plague an hour ago. I've been watching this for a week and I haven't heard that. All the really experienced players I've talked to aren't worried, and neither am I. I might be wrong. No big loss if I am. There are some things I'd like to do differently anyways.

There are a thousand people signing up a day. Killing off people isn't going to help them. They'd be back to the same in a week.

I just told Bunny Travolta to tell Pru she could stay via KoL chat. I hadnt read this first so I had no idea why he was asking, but none the less... Pru... STAY! please.

Prudence, don't leave! Seriously, don't take this game so seriously. What we should do is help out our sick members- replenish their stuff asap if it does evaporate. Is it only chatters that get sick? If so, lets start a YM chat group instead.

Look, I'm just trying to get out before I get more upset. If my character is now being killed off by the game creator for some ha-ha Columbus Day morality play, that's really going to piss me off and I am *damn* glad that I didn't donate today like I had planned. If that's how this Jick person wants to run his game, then it's his choice. But I don't like playing a game where my character will spontaneously be killed just because the creator feels like it. I realize that some people think that's all in fun and like starting over, but I'm not one of them.
