I had a totally swanking good time at the home of the lovely LSPE and Tom. LSPE always makes me think "Lispy", which is ironic, as she's quite articulate.

Many thanks to my tattooed wine boy, who was kind enough to share a seat with me, and kept the globe of my---wine glass always within his grasp.

Seriously, it was a great time, and I genuinely enjoyed the cupcakes, the company and the banter. Did I mention the cupcakes?

My thoughts:

Mrs. Day-Lewis must have a fabulous sense of humor.
Jon Stewart is teh man
Women over 60 should not have jet-black Betty Paige haircuts.
Yeah Juno-writer lady!
Tilda is just awesome
Helen Mirren is just fabulously regal
My heroes are getting old- Jack is downright elderly, now. And Harrison. Oh, Harrison.
Bad haircut, scientologist or not, Any man who will waltz into his presentation is just fine in my book.
Fish scales, feathers, and animal prints are in. I have a deep seated fear that another Clan of the Cave Bear movie may follow.

You're entirely welcome, and it was all my pleasure.

And I must have been pretty much the wined-up tattooed wine boy to brazenly display my tattoos at the drop of a hat (not to mention some trou.) ;)

You didn't see me complaining! :P

T's was better than either of those. They were both good, but T's was better. Left me wondering if maybe hers was too good, that the judges favored ones that were good but still had an amateur feel to them.

I was disgusted, biased or not, T's commercial was leagues better than those.

Well, I'd never even seen the first of the two they showed. It blew. It blew so bad that it was blatantly obvious what the producers wanted to win.

And T's was better.

Can I just say that I was in the bathroom taking a slash when the commercials aired. Totally bummed. I haven't seen them, but the general consensus of the room was that they blew burrito chunks.

I'm sad to have missed the fun! I kept tabs on a few of the fashion bits, with the help of the psychos at gofugyourself.com ;

Hathaway's gown- win.
Heigl's not too bad but not as good as Hathaway.
Mermaid at her wedding - I liked it.
Hilary Swank- I kind of liked it.
Jennifer Hudson- no.

Glad the party was such a success!

I watched the version they showed on French TV last night. It was so completely ridiculous that basically everything is dubbed into French. Even the dialog in montages is dubbed. The funniest though was that the dubbed voices even read out the nominee names, but in a French accent.

I cannot find what I thought was Alex's post about Refro, but either way....

Renfro Snubbed at Oscars

Tragic actor Brad Renfro was snubbed at Sunday's Academy Awards when organizers left him out of a montage of stars who died in the past year. Renfro was found dead from a drug overdose in Los Angeles in January, aged just 25. But he was overlooked on a list of 98 movie industry people, that included everyone from actors and directors to public relations people. A statement from the Motion Picture Academy of America claims, "It is simply not possible to include everyone in that segment." But a friend of the late star of The Client, Apt Pupil and Ghost World tells Tmz.com, "It's unbelievable and disgusting."
