I swear, I heard just about every sound from the time I went to bed last night. I think I only got about 3.5 hours of semi-solid sleep; the rest, I was totally awake for.

Ugh... I'm hoping Day 1 is the easy fo' sheezy day at work.

I hope so, too. And may you have a better night tonight!

There is a restaurant within walking distance called Riley's. It used to be a Love's and was purchased by an individual when the chain went out of business. I like it, but Susan is not fond of it. So we have a routine down where she phones in an order for a personal pizza from the Round Table in the same shopping center, I walk up to Riley's, put in my order, walk to Round Table to pick up her pizza and by the time I walk back to Riley's, my order is ready.

Except last night. When I discovered that Riley's went out of business.

Now, this may not be all that noteworthy until this morning, I decided that I was in the mood for a bagel from West Coast Bagel (an old Western Bagel location in Tustin). Much to my chagrin, I discovered that they ALSO went out of business.

I am now 0 of 2 on my last two meals. WTF?

I'm glad Kevy and I don't like any of the same restaurants.

(except it makes it difficult when I want him to pick up the bulk of the tab and he's not there.)

Could you stop by DCA's Burger Invasion on the way home?

I have bacon.
I have asparagus.
I have a bbq.

I was trying to make bacon wrapped asparagus on the bbq. Didn't work out so well. Any suggestions to get the bacon cooked without completely incinerating the asparagus?

Low and slow, keep a spray bottle of water handy to keep flames down when the fat catches fire.

Good lord, what time do you need to be at work in the morning?

I slept fitfully, as well, but it's not my first day on the job. Good luck! Hope it's a slow introduction, sleepy girl!

When?? Oy.

Ok, thank you. :) I'll try that method next. The bacon won't get crispy, right?

I ended up taking it off the bbq after about 15 minutes and finishing it in the frying pan.
