So I've been up dealing with stuff at my Mom's all weekend.

No one ever really belives what a nightmare this is going to be to clean the house out. I've taken some Photos. I doesn't really do it justice as Swanie can verify.

So if anyone wants a bunch of stuff just let me know. I'll make you a deal.

Still thinking of you, WB.

KB. I don't remember getting shivers like that in a long time. Did this accident involve broken bones too? I know I will probably regret asking.

Oh wow. Other than the material losses, that sounds both scary and cool.

Oh, I believe. I am so very sorry. I will be going through it soon myself. This is when it sucks to be an only child. I'd love to have some siblings to fight with and guilt into helping me clean out the mess. You have all my sympathy, KS. For real.

katiesue 03-09-2009 07:13 PM

Oh you don't want siblings. Dealing with mine adds an entirely whole new level of stupidity and foolishness to the whole mess.

katiesue 03-09-2009 07:16 PM

WB I'm so sorry.

Deebs 03-09-2009 07:20 PM

I shouldn't kid, I know you have a sibling challenge. But my mom is killing me. I just wish for someone to share responsibility for decisions related to her care. She is a mess in every way. The house is a disaster and it's going to take several dumpsters to even make a dent in the junk.

My friend Juan runs the box and ship. So he'll dever as many as I need :) And my cousins have been a great help with all this. It wouldn't be so bad if we lived closer but we don't.

My Mom's house was a total disaster as well. Four bedrooms, formal LR/DR Family room , kitchen and garage full of crap. I'm sure there was some good stuff in there as well, but you had to get through all of the crap to find it. My SIL and her daughters came down one weekend and sorted stuff and gone someone who re-sells crap to come pick it all up. Every once in a while I'll miss something and wish I had thought about it 10 years ago, but .......oh well. As it was, I got too much crap, some of which I'm still hauling around. Anyone need a piano?

katiesue 03-09-2009 07:52 PM

My sister is taking the piano. I'm trying to sort through and weed out the good crap. There is some. My grandmother owned the house originally (1950) and conveniently sold it to my parents with all the crap intact. So we've got 4 generations of peoples crap in there.

My grandparents, two of my great grandmothers lived with them before they died, my dad's family stuff when his mom died, my parents, my aunt, my sister, myself and my mom inherited everything from her great uncle. It's mind boggling.

I need a piano...but you're a bit inconvenient location-wise.
