I don't have a problem with society readjusting to the notion of a 1-income household. What's it to me, right? Except that whenever that happens it's assumed that women will be the ones to stay home. And it generally is. Which is also fine. Except that it perpetuates the notion that women *should* be the ones to stay home. Because ovaries are the biological source of superior bottom-wiping skills and whatnot.

So yeah, I get slightly anxious every time one of these stories come out. It's hard enough as it is to overcome the unspoken gender preference in the workplace. The last thing I need standing in my way is for the "all women/mothers should stay at home" theory to once again become the default expectation.

However, this post is entirely too serious for this thread. So.....

BOOBIES!!!!

If she can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan....

Let her.

...Especially if he'll change the kids' diapers while she's doing it.

I got a job. I'm happy. It starts at the end of the month.
Yay!

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYYY!

So what's the new job, pool boy?

And you got the rest of the month to play?

So, did you request time off for camping, GC?

The kitten is at my vet's office in a cage with 5 other adorable kittens about the same age. He will be socialized and adopted out. However, it seems he either doesn't have a sternum, an incomplete sternum or something else. he may end up being ok. He's survived this far.

I miss him.

However, my client trapped a mom to be cat in her house and, today when I went over to feed the other cats, there were 3 newborn kittens in her laundry basket.

Ooh. Camping... yeah, about that... I think you were right on that one. I don't think I can get time off while I'm on probation.
D'oh.

But the new job means I won't have to live in a tent on a permanent basis...

-----

The job is with a large movie studio's cable channel. Big building in Burbank.
;)

Lisa - Drop the kitties and back away slowly... No false moves... easy... easy...

KB - I'm afraid the Potrero's War is off for me too. Sorry. :(
