I'm still waiting for them to have Evinrude from The Rescuers as a walk around character.

That's the one. Would love to see how they pull that one off... ha ha.

MC has some pics of the event. The Country Bears showed up, too.

I would like to see how they pull off a Jessica Rabbit

I'm imagining a guy in full black "stage puppetry" costume with a tiny dragonfly hanging from a spring on his head.

I'm out of the loop on characters. On the cruise I just got off of I happened through the atrium during a princess gathering and there was one I had no idea who it was. Apparently I've never seen the ambulatory version of Ariel before.

A quarter century ago, one of the highlights of the big 30th Birthday was they brought out EVERY SINGLE character that had ever walked the Park. If costumes had been updated, the newest one was represented (i.e., Mickey Mouse), but if a character had not appeared in Disneyland since the '60's, that's the one that showed up that awesome night in 1985. It was rad.

By the way kids, the 50th Year was an absolute stunner. But the 50th Birthday absolutely PALED in comparison to what Disneyland did for the 30th (which is NOT to say I didn't have the absolute time of my life at the Resort for the 50th!)

Isn't he making appearances in the Blue Bayou? Thought I saw him buzz by... hmmm

I'll say though, I "understand" why they only have the big 5 walking around. But I just don't understand what the thinking is. I "understand" but I don't understand.

How many times have I walked from Goofy's Kitchen, had pics with Goofy there, walked into DCA and saw Goofy in his Vacation outfit, then walked into Disneyland, in the space of maybe an hour, and seen Goofy on Main Street. Really, now....

innerSpaceman 01-31-2011 08:33 PM

Hahaha, for those who remember when Ice Skating Pluto and Street Pluto saw each other at DCA. Ooops!

We know, we know. :p

Years ago Baloo and King Louie were out a lot, hanging out by the Adventureland entrance. We used to see them there while we were hanging out at the hub for untold hours.

There was a period where I saw Peter, Wendy, Hook and Smee by the firehouse or by the Mickey flowers a few times. Once, we saw Peter and Wendy playing Duck Duck Goose with a bunch of kids. That was neat.

When we first got our APs it seemed like we saw Pinocchio, Geppetto, Honest John, and Gideon all hanging out in Main Street every time we went.

I don't know who's "in" right now but they do rotate groups around.
