Every time I see this thread title, I worry that Ghiradelli Chocolates is sitting in Guantanamo, being held without bail. I'm glad that's not the case.

I figure it's so that you would eat it there. Most likely so you will like it and buy it. I can't see anyone selling them, you could never get enough to matter. Unless they are worried about the CMs taking them out of the building.
In any case, when I got mine, they said "be careful, it's open", otherwise I may not have known. I'm sure some ended up dropping out onto the ground. |

They're selling a hell of a lot more ice cream there than Mission ever sold tortillas, that's for sure. (I know Mission didn't sell tortillas there, but that display kitchen that made food you couldn't buy frustrated me to no end.) |
Big queue for ice cream. Since I didn't wanna shell out $9 for a sundae, not sure how to get in for a sample.

Or just walk in and get your free sample. |
We got a scoop with dark hot fudge and a water and it was less than $8 with AP discount. (Maddie doesn't like the whipped cream and cherries anyway).

They let us know it was open too. Didn't try the ice cream but the chocolate squares are the same ones they sell everywhere else, for much less.
I was hoping for some unique Disney chocolate. |
Tasted the sundaes when Cherny got one recently. OMFG worth the price!

I've sundaed twice now at the super speedy by the time you get to the counter they're practically handing you your order Ghirardelli, which, in the space of a week, is more than I've ever sundaed at at the super slo-mo Gibson Girl.

I usually eat ice cream about twice a year. I had the Mint Bliss sundae yesterday, and it was so good, I might eat ice cream twice this week.
