But I CAN'T give you a ride, I've got to work the next day.

It's pick-one-entertainment-thing-per-week for me right now. Go I to the Wednesday concert, or the Friday one?

Not to mention I have to get up at 4:30am to get to work by 6 so that I can hopefully pick you up at 2 for our meeting at 3. What energy will I have remaining for debauchery?

Though I won't permit you to hitch a ride home. I can come pick you up.

So tell me, what would you be doing now if you were me in Phildelphia? Is the real thing really better than Knott's Berry Farm? Mind you, I also saw the Freedom Train and it's life size replica of the Liberty Bell. So far, I've also been avoiding the whizz.

Where are all the party animals here?
Where are all the people who want to drink beer and listen to Irish music?
Where are all the people who want to spend time with ME! I'm hilarious and a real good time!
Bastards. All of you are bastards!

Yeah, yeah, welcome to my life! How's if feel?

Seriously, I'd hate to see any of the "Swanky" among us in dire straits, so LSE has my cell if you need a lift, its no prob. :snap:

A quanit, fun, lovely little bar: The Black Sheep Pub and Restaurant is an Irish-owned bar in a polished Center City townhouse, serving great food (the corn dusted calamari and steak salad are both winners) created by Chef Edgar Alvarez. 247 S. 17th Street, (215) 545-9473

Get a boxty here. They are scrumptious: Check out Fadó, a Dublin-based pub chain known for its Guinness and Irish home-cooking like potato pancakes, grilled salmon and shepherd's pie. 15th & Locust Streets, (215) 893-9700

I'd also walk around the old churches and cemetaries. I love looking at the old apartments.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of my favorite museums, and has the largest collection of Duchamp's work, at least in this country. Plus, it has my favorite piece of his:

The Mercer Museum has a wonderful collection of pre-inustrialized tools, and the museum itself is treasure trove.

The Mutter Museum - FREAKS IN BOTTLES! Love it.

It's got a really neat art community.

Plus, check out the super scary prison. It's a museum, too, I believe. Unbelievable.

Turns out this one, was a half block from my Hotel, so I had to check it out. The food was good, but I was seated at the bar upstairs where most of the room was taken up by a large party. Second dinning experience where I felt they didn't know how to handle a single dinner. So far, I must confess to be rather unimpressed with Philadelphia, especially since it seems like too many women here sound like Fran Drescher - you'd think we were next door to New Jearsey or something.

Oh wait ... Irish? Just as well, you didn't. Was there any clog dancing?

Probably waiting by their phone. Tear in eye.

Amen, mah sister.

Oh, Tref. It's not that kind of Irish music. They're a rocky - folky - fun type band. And they were great fun. My father was working in the area and was able to give me a lift home, too.

But I wish I'd thought to call you. I just assumed you saw this post - because I assume you read every word I write - and would have piped up if you were interested. Sorry, man. It would have been fun.

I DO, I DO read all of your posts! But I am afraid I slipped a little bit this last week. I won't let it happen again.
