I love me do-nuts and you can misquote me on that. But what do they sell for anyway, $0.60? Better you should wait for an off day and get your free glazed, free bakers hat and shell out another half dollar for your frosted twist w/ sprinkles.

All hail the do-nut. Part & parcel for The Good Life.

We got some donuts...we got some donuts! Wooo hooo!

Here's my trip report:

After a surprisingly good lunch at Marie Callendars (not my choice, but I went along!)..we headed across the street to KK. How let down we were to see that the hot donuts sign was not on! I suggested we not go in, and come back later. What's the point of going in if you can't get a hot off the grease donut? Hubby and the children wanted to go in anyway! We stepped inside and noticed that the little buggers were in the proofer elevators and were just about to fall into the large river of lard! Amazed as we were at the globs of flour and fat, we didn't notice the nice man with the complimentary glazed donuts in his hand...apparently not totally fresh..but fresh enough to still be very warm!

Ahhhh...warm doughy goodness! We watched the clouds of carby goodness take their little dive under the icing waterfall...and quickly made our way to the counter to "select our freebie"...Kat chose a chocolate glazed with sprinkles...Bailey had a lemon filled and I, in Claires honor, had an apple cinnamon!

We felt sorry for all the other neglected donuts sitting in the dislplay that we "adopted a dozen" and brought them home with us. They'll have a good home, I promise!

Grr. Couldn't make it today.

Guess this beer I'm drinking will have to suffice.

We call Krispy Kremes the devil. As in "Honey, would you please go get me some devil?"

Hubby promised to go buy me some devil tomorrow. Not free, but still tasty.

Weird!! There's a Marie Callendars across the street from the Beaverton Krispy Kreme......and today as I drove past, I thought, "We should have just eaten there," as I kept on driving and driving to meet my husband for lunch at Red Robin.

Well, the management of that Krispy Kreme considers cinnamon apple filled doughnuts "promotional" so they aren't offered all the time. I was SO mad! I don't really like doughnuts.....I like hot fresh glazed (weren't any) and my cinnamon apple filled and that's IT. Bah. I was sad. Got the girls theirs and that was that. And I spent $32 on lunch right before, dammit. Oh well.

The nearest KKs are approximately 20 minutes away from my crib. I didn't make it there even though I was in the area visiting a friend. I told my friend about the freebee donuts, she was so excited about going... but then, like a couple of 10 year olds, we took a short "dip" in the pool and swam until our arms gave out and we lost interest in driving 5 minutes for free stuff.

Gotta say... don't much care for Krispy Kremes. They're nice if they are frsh and warm, but otherwise... eh

UvaGirl 06-07-2005 02:26 PM

I've still never had a KK...the only ones I've seen are the wrapped ones in the supermarket, and I don't want that to be my first KK experience. One day....

UG,
Theres a KK not to far from DL. Next time you come out I bet someone will bring you some ;) (or tell you how to go to the store. Or take you to the store if you don't have a car).
