The sad thing was, I wasn't at all. I had a good night's sleep, I left work early, I was in a good mood, the Dodgers were winning, I was looking forward to the delicious dinner I had just shopped for. I was for the most part at the top of my game. Ugh.

Oh well. Never had that drink. Rode my bike and virtually smashed into cars with Burnout 3: Takedown. Right now I'm pretending it didn't happen.

What, didn't iSm's post make you feel better?;)

You need to get 'Downhill Domination'- you can do extreme mountain biking, and beat the **** out of your opponents at the same time!

GD~I just read your post and I sooo feel your pain. We just got a new car after a zillion years {and 3 kids}. We had a van and it actually held up pretty good cosmetically but not mechanically...but anywho...

So hear you about the happy meals, I am still pulling out crusty french fries from between the seatbelts....

So sad to hear about the omelette!!

And, I second that insurance sucks. I mean, never mind that you pay for ever with no claims...

Oh, and yeah, I remember what kind of car you have, a cool one.

F'ing useless, GD....

Anyhow -- If I see you, a drink's on me!

 and cheer up!

Car damage is such a PITA! It's bad enough when someone else does it, but it's such a D'oh moment when it's all your fault.

It happens to everyone. Don't beat yourself up over it - and get it fixed. You'll feel better about it for ever that way.

I hear you, GD. My first scratch in my new car was only about a year old. Teresa, that apartment complex where you used to live. Backing out of the space I heard a noise but I thought it was just my antenna scraping the ceiling of the carport. Nope. Scraped the side of my mirror. Worse, it's the driver's side, that I should have been able to see. White paint on my silver mirror. Ugh. I buffed out most of the paint and the scratches aren't all that deep but I still feel awful. I should have taken better care of my baby.

I know it's just a car. I get attached to my cars. It's not just a status symbol. Besides, this is the first time I've gotten to pick what car I drove. We bought it new, so I could have anything I wanted. Buying a used car, you have fewer options, depending on what somebody wants to sell and what condition it's in.

I just got my car paid off. I was at work when I noticed a huge gash in the paint on the drivers side, just over the read wheel well. This is the part of the car that had just been replaced less than a year ago after a seperated tire tore through it. I shudder to think what it will cost to fix. It is too deep and too big to be able to buff out. You can see the metal. I think I even know when and where it happened. My gut tells me it was in the Toys'R'Us parking lot. I ticked off a lady who was using the only available space to manuever her 2 young kids from the cart to her massive SUV. I would have waited for her, but she glared at me and moved her cart to the back of her car so I could pull in. I gave her a good 4-5' to move in, but I still think she did it with her cart.

F Car Repairs! Someone kicked in the side of my van night before last. Left 2 big (and different footprints) in the middle of a large dent! What is up with that? I have no idea who might have done it! Why vandelize someone's -not-paid-for-in-full-yet van? F THEM!

Betty 07-24-2005 10:16 AM

Okay - now I'm even more mad! It happened again last night! Just went out to the van and someone stood on the hood and then walked up the windshield, across the top and jumped off the back. It's obvious it was the same as one of the footprints from the night before. I'm really mad and feeling helpless at the same time as I have no way to stop them from doing it! ARGH!
