We should start having them here, too. Today wasn't too bad, only around 100.

GD, "poor Optimus" is right. He is stuck between transforming for the past week-he is under the coffee table as I type.

Looks like today may be more of the same. It's already getting hot. Damn, I miss that marine layer we've had recently.

It is currently 81 in Long Beach, with a high of 88 expected, but it seems hotter because the sky is a brigh crystal blue and the ocean is sparkling so brightly that it hurts to look at it.

It is supposed to drop a few degrees this weekend, but not by much. Hmmmmm. I think I'll wear some black. :fej:

I found out that PG&E customers are not expected to have blackouts, just ConEd customers. Thank goodness! It is a lot easier to deal with a blackout with temps 85-90 vs 98-105.

Just point of clarification - ConEd, short for Consolidated Edison was the name of the utility servicing New York City, not to be confused with ComEd, short for Commenwealth Edison which serviced Chicago (I believe they have been rechristened as "Excelon"). Meanwhile, Southern California Edison, subsidiary of Edison International services the Southern California Region along with Sempra (formerly San Diego Gas and Electric) as a transmission line carry electricity from Oregon went down the other day - both So Cal utilities were forced to cut power and hence the rolling blackouts. The DWP, Department of Water & Power is a municiple utility serviceing the city of Los Angeles and isn't subject to the California ISO which ordered the rolling blackouts, so no trouble there (or for the other municiple utilities in Anaheim or Riverside)

Rolling blackouts? Isn't that why you got rid of your last governor?

Yeah, too bad we can't dump this one.
