I say give Kayne another shot. His pertinent remark was removed from the west coast airing of the last Katrina telecast. (Of course, that just made it all the more newsworthy ... d'uh.) |

Oh? Many black people at that game, were there?

So only black people are qualified to make the judgement that Bush hates black people? Only black people are qualified to comment on the validity of it?
I am not black, but I think slavery was wrong. I guess I am not qualified to make that value judgement. I am not jewish, but I think it is obvious that Yassir Arafat hated jews. I guess I am not qualified to make that value judgement. As I am neither black nor jewish, I guess I am unqualifed to comment on David Duke. And as you are not black, ISM, I guess you are unqualified to call Kanye's comment "pertinent". Now of course, those last four statements are ridiculous, as is the implication that only black people can make a judgement as to the validity of Kanye's comment. |
Overreaction, scaeagles ... but yes, I would find the determination that a lot of people are hostile to Kayne's statement to be bogus if those people were not black.
Just saying that most "people" are hostile to the statement is meaningless, since most people are not black. Yeah, I find the opinions of non-blacks to be without supreme consideration in this instance. In fact, I think it would be very telling to find out just who is hostile to West's statement and who isn't. Very illuminating if white people are hostile, black people aren't, or conservatives are hostile and liberals aren't. I bet George Bush was hostile to that statement, but that's just the point. |
