SacTown sez:

Last year Phil put a green jacket on Tiger, this year Tiger will put one on Phil. It's always risky going against Tiger (especially in the tournament he was raised to win) but Phil is at the top of his game right now. Tiger does have the extra motivation of his dad's failing health to drive him right now. Nobody knows how long his dad has left and I'm sure Tiger would love for his pops to see him win one more Masters. I'm hoping we get a Tiger/Phil final group pairing on Sunday.

I'm just so excited!

I can't cheer for Phil. He won by a ton at....was it the Bell South this past weekend?.....but I think he gacks. I think he's made a tactical mistake already, being that he is packing 2 drivers. Why pack 2 drivers? I guess he says one is better for a fade and one is better for a draw, but if you are golfing at that level, you should be able to control those with one driver, right? We'll see. Hell, I can't control ANY golf shot, so what do I know?

SacTown Chronic 04-06-2006 07:07 AM

Of course he gacks....if he didn't he'd be like a 6 time major winner by now.

As for the drivers, I don't think it's a tactical mistake....he usually has three or four wedges in his bag so I don't think it'll hurt him to have one more driver and one less wedge. Besides, maybe he's planning on breaking a driver during the tournament for dramatic effect or something.

I meant I specfically think he'll gack at this Masters. His history of gackdom is legend in his hometown of Phoenix.

I once threw my driver in a lake, but I've never broken one for dramatic effect.

My brother once tried to throw his putter in a lake after missing a short putt but he missed the water completely.:D

My jaw just locked from yawning so much.

:D

My dad asked me to golf with him sometime. Seconds later, he said, 'Don't roll your eyes.' We were on the phone. Sometimes a father knows stuff.

Golf is like an Easter Parade for tacky pants.

Really? I should take it as a compliment since it's my understanding that it takes a lot to tire your jaw, ifyaknowwhatImean.

And it took the right kind of guy to make me lose my gag reflex, too.
