Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

For my birthday I got to get up early and take my car into the transmission shop. My transmission had been thumping the day before and when I got up yesterday the "service engine soon" light was on and my speedometer was stone cold dead. Got to the shop at 8am (no sleeping in for me) and they checked it out. The speed sensor was dead, so my transmission did not know when to change gears- so they ordered a new one. $75 for the part, $225 for the labor!!!! So my birthday present to myself was a $300 transmission repair!

So while my car was in the shop, I came home and studied for the series 7 test (which is now officially freaking me out) and then took a nap with Rose (we've both been fighting the ick). Got up, got my car- and went to Maggianos for dinner with my parents, kids and my brother and his fiance.
