Pfft, I'm hardly a design expert. VBulletin does 99% of the work for me, all I do is change a few colors. And the logo was the work of blueerica and Flubber. Even the LoT Swag logo that I "made" was appropriated from Ubergeek's button design.

I have had my site hosted with tierranet.com forever! They are not too expensive and are very reliable, and it is easy to upload your site. They have an FTP client with in their website if you don't have one you can upload from there.
