I didn't know you could get extra crispy fries. I love them the way they are but I'm intrigued.

I've been good most of the time lately:
#3 - Hamburger, grilled onions, fries and a coke
or
Hamburger Animal Style, hold the pickles, grilled onions, and a coke

Bad:
Hamburger Animal Style, hold the pickles, grilled onions, fries, and a chocolate shake.

After that meal I'm a sleepy beached whale.

I've never had a double...I think it would kill me. Maybe if I went Protein Style, but I really gotta have the bread.

Funny you should mention that. Due to this thread, we had to go there tonight and try two new items, a neopolitan shake and animal-style fries. Both were quite tasty although the fries would have been better without the spread, IMO.

And now, beached whale syndrome slowly creeps in...

:)

It's one of their secret menu items. They take longer to cook (obviously), so if you're in a rush I don't recommend them.

The alternative is double meat, no cheese, or double meat and cheese but no extra bun. I found that the extra meat helped prevent the beached whale syndrome. But now I get it since I cut out the meat.

And I think I shall have In n Out tomorrow.

What the hell is animal style? I mean, I know what I'm thinking of, but that doesn't generally involve fast food restaurants.

I went to In N Out last week. The girl at the drive through gave me my drinks and went to get the food. I saw the next person's drinks sitting on the counter in a holder with straws in the holder too. This reminded me that I needed to make sure I got my straws. I looked over at my drinks and the straws were already in them, paper completely off. This weirded me out big time, but the girl handed me my food so quickly and rushed off that I didn't have a chance to say anything. I thought about waiting there, but I figured, what's the worst that could happen? So I risked it.

On topic:

Single w/cheese, w/onions and extra pickles, no sauce, with ketchup and mustard, fries, chocolate shake.

Michael likes his plain.

Don't care for their shakes. But now that I'm eating again, double double no tomato raw onion.

There are a lot of sites devoted to covering the "Secret Menu" though they mostly all list the same things. You can even find one abbreviated listing on In N Out's own web site.

When not doing low carb, it is a Double Double Animal Style, no pickles, fries and an extra large iced-tea. On low carb it is a 3X3, Protein Style, Animal Style No Pickles and an iced tea (no fries - duh). I like to enjoy a cheddar Thin Krisp with this if I can.

Susan gets a Cheeseburger with grilled onions and spread only, fries and a medium or large Coke with extra ice.
