Heh. I was more amused that I *did* know. Every so often I just "know" something in French and I don't know why. "Tour" doesn't end in "e" so I was trying to talk myself out of it being feminine, but my instinct was right.

And then I had to look it up - "tour" as, well, a tour is masculine - le Tour de France. "Tour" as tower is feminine. Weird!

Now you have a bit of snooty French knowledge suitable for driving people crazy at cocktail parties. :p

Seriously, though the photos were great! I'd totally forgotten about those flat-topped boats on the Seine. Were there a gob of pigeons at Notre Dame when you were there?

No, the season (late October) and our early jump on the day meant low pigeon population, as well as low tourist population.
