I'll actually be able to be there before the gates open, for once. CP will be coming up separately after work.

This will be the inagauration of the NEW TABLE! I'm overly excited by this.

I don't know if I can make it. I'm double-booked. Successful chair hunt tomorrow will be the deciding factor.

Ugh, I just found out today that another of my favorite movies is playing at the cemetery on MONDAY! - - namely, Rock'n'Roll High School ... with two members of the starring Ramones in permanent residence at the cemetery no less. Visit their graves, then see them rock!

Fine, I'm double-booked on Monday, too ... and can't do this one. Bah. Why are there two fantastic cemetery screenings on my frelling birthday weekend!?!?!?

Where's the info on the Rock'n'Roll High School screening? I was just thinking about that film and it's goofiness.

It's written up in the L.A. Weekly - on their big What's Happening July 4th Weekend page.

Hey, I had good chair luck ... but I'm still not sure if I'm headed for the cemetery. I'm certainly leaning that way. I love the vibe of cemetery nights.

Still in Michigan so we won't be there, but we should be at the next one and several following ones. They're so much fun. Plus we found our comfy chairs before Body Snatchers. *makes snatcher hissing noise*

And the wiiiiiner iiis .... Strangelove in the Cemetery.

See ya there.

Still jealous.

Fun time, as usual. It's kind of hard to have a crappy time at these things. :)

We have new backpack chairs and they seriously rock! I'll never shy away from shlepping a chair to an outdoor event again. :snap:

It was a fun evening, but the film was just "eh" for me. Actually, I would've liked it quite a bit more without the distracting Peter Sellers as Dr. Strangelove. IMO, he overplayed that part to extreme, although it would be hard to play that character straight and be effective. But, I now see the inspiration for Dr. Scott in RHPS.

Sellers' other characters were wonderful - especially the President. "Yes, Dimitri." Overall, it was a wierd, disjointed film and not up there with my othr Kubrick favorites. I WOULD rather watch Eyes Wide Shut on continious look than see this film - but I'd prefer Lolita.
